I like ‘em firm and strong. Yeah baby! Massages, please… Best ever, Nachita at Spa Botanica, her de-stress muscle massage is a gift from the goddesses! 75 min $168+++ The gorgeousness of Spa Botanica (pictured below), with its wonderful grounds and facilities is obviously a great reason to visit too.

Too pricey? Fret not, I found the recession version at Benjaphan (King’s Arcade, Bukit Timah). It’s in a strange location, and shares a floor with an equestrian supply shop. But inside, it’s lovely, nicely done, nice showers, paper panties and great massage tables. The 60 minute Thai oil massage I had was almost as good as Nachita’s, and only $90, with 20% off Monday to Thursday.
If you’ve been a really bad girl and should be punished, go to Qi Mantra, the Chinese therapists do an acupressure that really applies the…pressure! In the 60 minute massage, you get half a body done – lying on your tummy while she works your back half. It was oww and I was left with bruises on my shoulder blades (my bad, I said extra on the shoulder blades) but she did get the kinks out and it did do the job. I was a limp noodle after. No showers, they wipe you down with a hot damp towel. $70 for 60 minutes. (Located at Lorong Mambong and Club Street)
And of course, the ubiquitous Kenko. I am a big fan of the 30 minute neck and shoulder. You sit in the massage chair, with your face down on the ring, in a roomful of other people experiencing theta state and get really good elbow work and pressure point work. Totally worth the 30 minutes and $41 (after GST) Uncle Tan at Vivo does the ‘exquisite pain’ version. (you know, somewhere between vom and ahhh…)
