Aveda and Lush, now in Sing

October 19th, 2010

The Toiletries Gods heard me!

My favourite brands have arrived in Sing!  Oh be still my shallow, superficial, toiletry-fetishist heart.

Aveda is available at many hairsalons and a standalone store in Ngee Ann City, B1.  Granted, it’s not quite the full selection, but the main stuff: Rosemary Mint (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, with a gentle smell of mint), Shampure (shampoo and conditioner, with a light flowery fragrance), some skincare (including the new anti-ageing Green Science) and the new chakra fragrances are available.  My favourite product is the amazing foot moisturiser Foot Relief – honestly, it makes your feet as smooth as a baby’s!  And the delicious tea – perk: they offer you some when you walk into the store : )

My other favourite toiletries brand, Lush, is known for using natural recipes for the good of your skin and hair.  I love the thought that when you are using the products you are nourishing your skin.  Now at last, Lush has opened at Wisma, in the basement.

My poor friends who travel to/from the UK have had to keep me in Lush stock.Try Angels on Bare Skin – a fantastic face scrub that doesn’t dry out your skin but cleans it, feeds it and gives you a glow.  Lush’s version of a medieval recipe, it contains ground almonds and lavender oil.

My other love, the Mask of Magnaminty is a delicious weekly mask for your face.  China clay and bentonite gel will pull the dirt from your pores, ground aduki beans and evening primrose seeds exfoliate surface skin cells, and peppermint oil nourish your skin plus you smell nice and minty.

My only gripe is, it’s so expensive, compared to anywhere else – including Hong Kong.  I don’t get why.

But well, what price for the freshly-made face masks – BBSeaweed and my favourite, Brazened Honey (improves my skin visibly!)
